Secrets to Raising Happy Healthy Kids 

Let me start off by saying the image above IS FUNNY yet not what I will write about today. It’s just to ease the tention that you may be feeling right now as you are trying your best to raise your children. Trust me I know how you are feeling because I have a 3.5 year old an a 4 month old baby girl and they are my ENTIRE WORLD. They mean more to me and my husband than anything else on the planet and what scares me the most in life… it’s not heights or anything like that…. it’s the fear of failure & not raising my kids right. Do you feel that way sometimes?

Well I started feeling that way when Lane was first born and so instead of doing what I normally would do when it was some fear that was selfish about myself I decided to LEARN!! There’s a thought hey? ;) I can’t believe I never thought of this before when I was going through life aimlessly and not knowing what I was doing lol which by the way after reading and learning with some self help parenting books it has lead me to SOO many different things and I have read & learn more in the last 2-3 years than I have in my entire life.

Today Im going to give you some really great tips that I have read & learned for the last few years that I TRULY believe in ;) Lets get started….

#1. PARENTING GOAL: Your goal as a parent is to RAISE HAPPY HEALTHY KIDS! Point blank! You want your children to above all other things to have HIGH levels of self esteem and confidence. They need to be capable and confident to create an excellent life for themselves.

#2 Raise Popular Kids: Now when I say this I don’t mean you need them to be beautiful and handsome … we are talking on the INSIDE! We are talking their personality and qualities. You need to every single day be paying attention what you say to them, the habits they are forming, teach them to respect others (the opposite sex) , having a GOOD attitude, etc.

#3: Raise HEALHY Kids: Now this one, if you know me, you KNOW this is near and dear to my heart. Im a fitness consultant in case you didn’t know ;) Teach your kids all about healthy eating & exercise habits. Explain how they need to eat in moderation, eat a lot of fruit and veggies, explain to them to eat until they feel full or satisfied NOT until their plate is clean, and explain to them WHY they need to up in good healthy foods. I tell Lane that God has given you a AWESOME COOL gift and it’s your body so we need to take care of it. I explain to him how healthy foods make you feel really good, give you big muscles, nice teeth, and ton of ENERGY and when we eat yucky food it makes us feel yucky, gross, tired, and just not good. Trust me Im not SUPER MOM to say the least…. remember Im just like you and I stress about failing with my kids BUT the point is you should try. Don’t expect this to happen over night… it may take 15 years LOL but just never give up because it’s SOOOO important! Also you need to be leading by example for them… if they see you exercising and eating well they will think “Wow, Mommy always is working out and eating like she is telling me to do!” He/she will think it’s normal and part of a daily routine like brushing teeth. If not for yourself… do it for your little dude or dudette

#4 Respect: Teach your kids at a early age how important it is to RESPECT others and to be respect BY others. Raise your child to be strong and respect. A great start to teaching him/her to respect others and probably the greatest gift you can give your child is RESPECTING YOUR SPOUSE! Starting right now vow to never fight or disrespect your spouse in front of your children. Even as early as 2 years old they are picking up on this stuff guys and this is so important as some of you parents out there already know because your kids will speak up and say something to you right? Ya it’s cute & all but it’s really not that cute in the long run. So again teach and practice respect!

#5: LOVE: Be the greatest single most important source of LOVE, compassion, encouragement, caring, supportive, etc in their life. Primary source of love and respect to them.

I hope these 5 tips have helped you out some what and I would LOVE your feedback and questions on this because again I am not a perfect mother, Im not super Mom, but what I am is a student and Im willing to learn, read, listen, and try to be the best Mommy I can be until forever. 1 English cucumber, half-peeled in alternating strips, slicked thick half-moons

1/4 small container ripe plum or cherry tomatoes, each cut in half

1 Tbsp. chopped red onion

2 Tbsp. red wie vinegar

1 tsp. balsamic vinegar

1 Tbsp. lemon juice

2 tsp. extra virgin olive oil

1 Tbsp. chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley

1 Tbsp. chopped fresh basil leaves

Himalayan salt (to taste)

Herbal seasoning (to taste)

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and toss well.

Serves 1.

Most of you have been kinda sorta following my journey as I go through the Beachbody Ultimate Reset. Well here is a short update (editing my video tonight to post on my youtube) Im on day 10 (half way there YAY) and the first few days were tough. I wasn’t the cleanest eater before this I will admit it and Im a snacker especially at night so that is when I would crave things the most BUT after day 3 that stop completely AMEN to that! The food/recipes have been VERY VERY good as you can tell Im enjoying them by my pics i have been posting and you all know i hate and can’t cook and i have made almost all the meals myself without Brad’s help. He has done I think 2 meals (1 bcuz I had eye surgery and 1 because I was taking care of the kids). Basically if i can cook these things anyone can lol :)

The first week is the week is called RECLAIM and its you slowly getting into certain habits & cutting out certain foods (meat & dairy) from your diet. The 2nd week you are detoxing and getting rid of a lot of toxins from your body and you are completely VEGAN. And the 3rd week I haven’t got to yet so I can’t really tell you much about it just yet but I hear thats where the magic happens.

I feel absolutely amazing you guys…. Im serious! I was sorta crabby day 1-3 but after that I got into a mode where I was organizing my house, realizing all the blessings I have, slowing down to enjoy certain things, SLEEPING better, and just feel clean you know? I feel like this reset is simplifying and detoxing my entire life :)

In 7 days I lost 8lbs!!!! I have never lost 8lbs in 1 week ever in my life but I must have had a lot of toxins & also water weight. I will update everyone on my results at the end of this week and then a final update at the end of the 21 days.
